How to save your pool water?
Tips for minimising pool water costs while enjoying your pool to the max
We know that water is becoming an increasingly scarce resource, so we should use it responsibly. By adopting appropriate measures, you can enjoy a pool at home in a more economical and sustainable way.
Below are some practical tips to help you make your pool more sustainable and to significantly reduce your water consumption.
Don’t empty the pool
We’re used to emptying the pool every two or three years for cleaning. But we suggest not emptying it. We can assure you that if the pool water is maintained properly and regularly and the right products are used, it could easily last up to six years. After this time, the water should be changed.
Use a protective cover
Using a cover not only prevents the water from getting dirty, but also helps maintain the temperature and minimise evaporation. Our Maia pools are ideal if you want an integrated pool cover that looks attractive and fulfils the aforementioned functions.
Take care of the pool equipment and water quality all year round
Make sure you have an efficient filter system, choose the best type of water treatment and use an automatic or manual pool cleaner. You could reduce water consumption by up to 20%.
Don’t fill the pool too much – take advantage of the rainwater to fill it
It’s best to avoid jumping in the pool and other movements that will displace water from the pool. You can also store rainwater in a water recovery tank and use it to clean the filters and to compensate for evaporation.
