Let’s look at some figures relating to water consumption, by comparing two popular pool models:

A standard/large pool of 8 metres long by 4 metres wide, with a depth of 1.50 m, versus a small pool of 3 metres long by 3 metres wide, with a depth of 1.4 m.

The small pool, which in a real case would be the Ceramic de Luxe Iris model, holds less than 10 m3 of water. If we compare this with a standard/large pool as referred to above, the difference in the amount of water used is 12,900 litres.

In summer

We also need to take into account that water evaporation occurs during the summer months. The larger the surface area of a pool, the more evaporation there will be (approx. 4 to 5 m3 of water a month), as more water is exposed to the sun. In contrast, evaporation is much less in a small pool (approx. 1 m3 a month).

To keep evaporation to a minimum, we recommend installing a pool cover.

Also, with a Ceramic de Luxe pool, if you maintain the pool water on a regular basis, the water can easily last up to six years before you need to change it.

Taking advantage of rainy days is great for topping up your pool. So, after the rain, don’t drain the pool to the normal level unless absolutely necessary. Use this natural resource to keep your pool water level high.

If you want to enjoy the pool for longer, you can heat it. And, of course, a smaller pool is infinitely faster to heat and is less costly energy-wise than a standard/large pool.
